Charles "Bud" Clark:
Charles "Bud” Clark is in his twentieth year at Missouri Southern State
University, in Joplin, Missouri, and is in his thirty-eighth year of teaching in
Missouri schools. He is the Director of Choral Studies at Missouri Southern. He
received his B.M.E. and M.A. degrees at Central Missouri State University in
Warrensburg, Missouri.
Mr. Clark is a highly sought after conductor/clinician, and has conducted over
275 clinics and workshops throughout Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma,
and throughout Central United States. His Chamber Choir has had singing tours of
France, Italy, and Switzerland in May of 2001 and did concerts in Vienna,
Budapest, Salzburg, Graz, Innsbruck and Munich in 1999, and just completed a
concert tour of Australia in May of 2005, with a concert tour of England and
Ireland in May of 2007.
Mr. Clark has over thirty published articles and wrote the “Humor” column for a
nationally published magazine, Vocalease. In addition to his articles, Mr. Clark
has written and sold several Madrigal Dinner Scripts throughout the United
States.
Dr. Joey Martin:
Dr. Joey Martin During the summer of 2005 he traveled with Texas State Chorale giving concerts in Vienna, Budapest, Salzburg, and Prague. In addition to his work at Texas State, Dr. Martin also serves as the artistic director for the Alamo City Men’s Chorale, and choirmaster for the Mid-Texas Symphony. Dr. Martin received his DMA in choral conducting from the University of Texas-Austin. He received his Master of Music and Bachelor of Music Education (Vocal/Choral) from Southwestern Oklahoma State University
Dr. Brad T. Barrett:
Dr. Brad T. Barrett began his affiliation with Honor Choir USA in 2007, where he was one of the featured conductors/clinicians for the International Honor Choir, held in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is presently the Conductor-in-Residence for Honor Choir USA, where he is planning such artistic endeavors as an Ecumenical Honor Church Choir, a Community College Honor Choir, and a Community/Civic Honor Choir. Dr. Barrett holds a Bachelor’s degree in vocal music and Master’s degree in choral conducting from Missouri State University, with a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in choral conducting and vocal performance from The University of Arizona.
Barrett taught choral music in the public schools for sixteen years, where his students performed at the state, regional, and national levels as well as concert tours throughout Europe and the United States. His high school students consistently held record numbers of I ratings at both district and state music festivals. During his high school teaching career, his choirs performed in such venues as Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame, Saint Chappelle, St. Johns Church, St. James Church-Piccadilly, Westminster Cathedral and St. Giles Cathedral.
From 2002 – 2009, Dr. Barrett was on faculty at the University of Northern Iowa where he conducted the Varsity Men’s Glee Club, UNI Singers, and the Chamber Singers. During that time, he taught undergraduate and graduate choral conducting, choral methods and techniques, graduate history and survey of large choral forms, graduate administration of the music program, and vocal coaching. While at UNI, the Chamber Singers auditioned and were selected to participate in the National ACDA Convention held in Miami, Florida (2007). Under his direction, the Varsity Men’s Glee Club performed in such European venues as: Ruthin Castle, Christ’s Church-Dublin, St. Asaph’s Cathedral, Sheldonian Theatre, St. Paul’s Covent Garden, St. Vitus Cathedral, Lodz Cultural Center, Chapel of Mirrors, St. Kinga’s Chapel, and Maria Zaccaria Church.
